Well, these came out of nowhere! The cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens have today Tweeted out a series of character posters for the highly anticipated release, and while more could soon follow, we for now have Princess Leia, Han Solo, Kylo Ren, Rey, and Finn.
Each of them are wielding their respective weapons, though it’s hard to escape the feeling that Finn being the one to hold the lightsaber isn’t some sort of misdirection after what we’ve heard about Rey and the recent hints in the trailer that she may be a Skywalker.
Speaking of which, you’ve probably already noticed who’s missing here: Luke Skywalker! It’s become apparent that Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm have gone out of their way to keep that character hidden until the movie is released, something which may feel a little frustrating, but definitely adds to the overall excitement!
Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 17th.
