Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is now less than three months away, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a piece of concept art which gives us a much better look at what we should expect from the DC Extended Universe’s redesigned Batcave. There’s also a new official image featuring Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Jeremy Irons’ Alfred Pennyworth.

Asked about Batman’s role in this world and how the Caped Crusader fits into a team like the Justice League, Affleck said: “[Batman] represents human beings, mortal men. In a world of Flashes and Aquamen and Supermen, there needs to be that guy. It’s interesting that? he became the ?leader of the Justice League in the books — I’m not sure how that’ll play out here — but his humanity is also an asset.” The majority of fans would love to see Batman take control of the superhero team, but whether or not that happens remains to be seen!

Irons meanwhile isn’t thinking ahead to that team-up, but did weigh in on how his Alfred differs to previous versions we’ve seen on the big screen. “Alfred is a lot more hands-on in our film than he has previously been. He’s a bit of a grease monkey, and he’s very involved in the decisions Bruce makes.” That sounds a lot like Geoff Johns’ Batman: Earth One.

Why is that significant? Well, Johns is rumoured to be writing the solo Batman movie with Affleck, so it will be interesting to see how many more ideas will have made it into this one…
