This is the one we’ve all been waiting for.

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is less than three months away from coming to the big screen, and after hearing that the US would be getting the third trailer for the film attached to their 4th May release of The Avengers, we’ve been waiting for it to hit the Internet. And now it has.

Warner Bros. have officially released the third trailer for the film, and it’s here below for your viewing pleasure.

Written by brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan, with a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, the film naturally sees the return of Christian Bale in the lead as Batman, with an unstoppable supporting cast that includes Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, and Juno Temple.

The Dark Knight Rises will be with us on 20th July, a date that literally everyone I know is looking forward to – and I’m sure you can relate to that, because it’s going to be immense. And here’s the new trailer to prove it. For the rest of our coverage of the film, you can click right here.

  1. That is one moody trailer — exactly what we expect from a Batman flick. If this isn’t a sign that the superhero has grown up, we don’t know what is.

  2. I’m not so sure. Placing what we know of this film through Nolan’s previous Batman films and this trailer I’m not convinced that they need to be moody to be grown up. I loved the Avengers for the colour and the complexity of the characters at play. It was never laboured on but there were genuine moral complications which propelled the story and never overwhelmed it. I found Nolan’s last two Batman films too stifled by their own moodiness to borrow the phrase.
