Muppets-Most-Wanted-Poster-sliceJames Bobin’s The Muppets was a huge hit amongst fans, seeing the Muppets return to cinemas for the first time in over a decade. And fortunately, for all our benefit, we don’t have to wait nearly as long for their next feature, with Muppets Most Wanted arriving shortly in the spring.

Disney released the first teaser trailer back in the summer, following it up more recently with a full UK trailer. And with just a couple more months to go before its arrival, the studio has teased new footage in a parody promo for the sequel.

Following on from 2011’s smash-hit The Muppets, all your favorite characters are back in an hilarious all-new spy thriller adventure in Disney’s MUPPETS MOST WANTED, hitting cinemas March 2014. Packed with celebrity cameos and featuring star turns from Ricky Gervais, Tiny Fey and Ty Burrell, MUPPETS MOST WANTED takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, including stops in Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows them overseas as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine, the World’s Number One Criminal, and dead-ringer for Kermit.

Ricky Gervais is the human face front and centre this time around, with Ty Burrell and Tina Fey completing the leading cast, and plenty of cameos to be expected from the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Zach Galifianakis, Stanley Tucci, Salma Hayek, Christoph Waltz, Lady Gaga, Danny Trejo, and even Jemaine Clement.

Bobin returns to helm the sequel, co-writing the script with Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets, Yes Man), with Bret McKenzie of course returning to write songs for the film, having won an Oscar for his work on the last film.

In the words of @PoppaFreshness, “If you don’t like da Muppets, then you’re totes lame.”

Muppets Most Wanted hits US cinemas on March 21st, a week ahead of its UK release on 28th March.
