Mouth Off Episode 9 – Legion, Chloe, The Oscars and The Trouble with Remakes

9

It’s that time of the week again when you can put your feet up and let the aural experience of a HeyUGuys Mouth Off podcast brighten your day.

Taken to task this week on the podcast, Dave, /Film’s Brendon Connelly and I talk over the new UK cinema releases this week, focusing on Paul Bettany’s Angels Apocalypse drama Legion and Atom Egoyan’s latest erotic thriller, Chloe.

We also mull over this weekend’s Oscars and offer up our predictions and following on from the small outbreak of controversy surrounding the endless slew of remakes on offer, we give our opinions on what makes a good remake and pose the question – Is any film fair game for a remake?

You can listen in your browser below, or click here to subscribe to the MouthOff feed in iTunes, where you can also find our older episodes.

I hope you enjoy it, do let us know what you want to hear, or if you agree or disagree with us – leave your comments here, or email us on MouthOff@heyuguys.co.uk

Hope you enjoy it, see you next week!

  1. Im entitled to my opinion and Garry is an appalling Journalist and seriously letting your site down. If you want to take the step into next level and make your site huge that it fully deserves to be then you have to think about the quality of your writers…

  2. See, much better without that reviewer on the Podcast from last week! Was he sacked…Hahaha, just keep it the three of you and it will be fantastic.
Noticed he writes your reviews also, hope that will change too as he knows nothing about films and cant write for shit.

  3. You're effectively invalidating your own argument. Yes, Gary does write the majority of the reviews, and the bottom line is if he really was an 'appalling journalist' as you say, then he wouldn't be constantly invited to screenings. HeyUGuys has taken 'the next step' several times over the last year, and Gary has firmly been a part of that. Yes, you are entitled to YOUR opinion, as long as you realise that it is YOURS, and that you really need to try and express it in a more constructive way.

  4. Completely agree with Baz_mann and you are indeed entitled to your opinion. However my (our) opinion is that Gary is an invaluable member of the HeyUGuys team who has been integral in taking us to the heights that we've been to over the 16 months.

I'm afraid he's not going anywhere.
