New Line Cinema has dropped the long-awaited first trailer for ‘Mortal Kombat II,’ the high-octane sequel to the 2021 video game adaptation that thrilled fans with its bone-crushing action and faithful nods to the beloved franchise. This time, the stakes are higher, the blood flows thicker, and the warriors of Earthrealm face their deadliest challenge yet: Shao Kahn.

In a trailer dripping with sweat, steel, and supernatural power, Earth’s champions return to the arena—but the lines between friend and foe blur as they’re forced to battle each other in a vicious tournament orchestrated by the tyrannical ruler of Outworld. And yes, Johnny Cage has entered the ring.

Karl Urban brings the iconic Johnny Cage to life with cocky flair and fists of fury, joining returning stars Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion. Tadanobu Asano reprises his role as Lord Raiden, while Joe Taslim returns as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero. The cast also includes Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, Damon Herriman, and Chin Han.

Director Simon McQuoid is back at the helm, delivering another bone-shattering spectacle, with a screenplay from Moon Knight’s Jeremy Slater. Once again, the film draws from the legendary games created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, ensuring every fatality, friendship, and flawless victory lands with brutal precision.

The tournament is about to begin. Will Earthrealm survive?

Finish him.
