We get to see Leo being all moody and sullen, all tender and stuff by Dame Judi Dench’s bedside, all bloated and old and scowly and Armie Hammer (of Winklevi fame from The Social Network) aging similarly. Clint Eastwood looks for his part remarkably well at ease, considering the scope of the film he is undertaking.
It seems to be one of those films with “prestige project” plastered all over it, though that is by no means a criticism. Clint Eastwood is a director of impeccable credentials and there is every reason to believe that he can and will deliver a fascinating and epic story of the life of one of America’s most infamous sons. Since you have a fair few pictures to scroll down through and enjoy, I’ll leave it there.
