Monsters, the low-budget alien-invasion flick from first time director Gareth Edwards, has been attracting some strong buzz from screenings at various film festivals.

Now, even before the film goes on general release, Edwards has mapped out a plan for his follow-up, another science fiction film set to be produced by, none other than, Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted).

Details are thin on the ground, but Deadline, who initially reported this, quote the story will be an “epic human story, set in a futuristic world without humanity.”

In his words, it sounds similar to Monsters, but I’m sure that with Bekmambetov’s skilful aid, Edwards will undoubtedly make an intriguing, exciting and wholly intelligent return to the genre.

We’ll bring you more news as it hits. Monsters will be released nationwide on November 2.
