We’ve had an abundance of casting news and now we get treated to some on-set photos, as principal photography is underway on the action-thriller sequel Mission: Impossible 4.

As you will all know by now, The Incredibles and Ratatouille director Brad Bird is making his live-action debut in the fourth film in the series, this time featuring  Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway and Paula Patton. ComingSoon have bagged the on-set shots, which you can peruse below, or click through this link to see the original article on their site.

We previously brought you these set pictures from Prague.

What we have here are essentially a number of variations on a stunt involving Cruise, a zip line and jumping from a great height. Obviously these sorts of stunts have sort of become a calling card for the M:I films, although goodness only knows why he’s barefoot and down to his trousers. Cruise looks a little closer to the floppy-haired look of M:I-2 rather than the closer-cropped 1 and 3, but otherwise it’s business as usual and I have supreme faith that Brad Bird will prove himself to be as gifted a director of live action as he is of animation.

Filming continues in Prague. We’ll bring you everything we can as we get it.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
