The image features Cruise alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames looking ready to take on their next mission as Pegg, Ferguson and Cruise set their gaze on something in the distant sky.

MI6 helmer, Christopher McQuarrie also took to social media to thank the crew and locals of Kia Ora whilst filming and announcing their next location move to London.

During their time in New Zealand, McQuarrie has posted a number of beautiful shots from the set of not only the cast, which included the first look of Henry Cavil as the currently unnamed villain of the production but the glorious landscapes making up the setting of some of the sixth outing.

McQuarrie has promised a different approach this time around which won’t solely focus on the action which is synonymous with the franchise by getting to know our leading character played by Cruise, Ethan Hunt and what makes him tick.

“I’ve seen five of these movies and I don’t know who Ethan Hunt is,” I want to know who Ethan is in this movie, I want an emotional journey for this character, and Tom really embraced it.” He stated. McQuarrie went on to reveal “I don’t want to string together a bunch of action scenes, I want to actually deal with character’. So I put Ethan in a bunch of complicated moral quandaries, and I’m trying to find ways to connect them – and then, ironically, the way to connect them was through giant action scenes.”
