Millie Bobby Brown is set to bring one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history to the big screen. The ‘Stranger Things’ star is in final negotiations to play legendary gymnast Kerri Strug in ‘Perfect,’ a feature film that has Gia Coppola on board to direct.
While a deal isn’t fully closed, sources reveal Netflix is in advanced talks to land the highly sought-after package. The screenplay is penned by Ronnie Sandahl (Borg vs McEnroe, Perfect Sense), with Brown producing through her PCMA banner. Lead producers include Nik Bower for Riverstone Pictures and Thomas Benski for Magna Studios.

Strug became a national hero during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as part of the USA women’s gymnastics team, famously known as the “Magnificent Seven.” In a defining moment, she completed a near-flawless vault on a severely injured ankle, securing the team’s gold medal before collapsing in pain. Her coach, Béla Károlyi, carrying her off the mat remains etched in Olympic history as one of the Games’ most enduring images.
Production on ‘Perfect’ is expected to begin next spring.
