Machete-Kills-Character-Poster-Michelle-RodriguezWhilst we’d been rooting for two doses of Robert Rodriguez on the big screen this year, it looks like we’ll be waiting a little longer for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For to hit. But in the meantime, there’s still plenty to look forward to on the Machete Kills front.

Danny Trejo is of course back as the titular Machete, joined by another brilliant ensemble of new and familiar faces alike. One of those familiar faces returning is Michelle Rodriguez, reprising her role as Shé, and now EW have a thirty-second Comic-Con preview focusing on her return. And with it, we’ve also got a new character poster for Demián Bichir as Mendez the Madman.

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

The three will be joined by a great cast, led by Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Lady Gaga, Sofía Vergara, Charlie Sheen / Carlos Estevez, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror, and Mel Gibson.

Rodriguez is directing from a script by Kyle Ward, based on an original story the director wrote with his brother, Marcel Rodriguez.

Machete Kills is set to be released on October 4th, with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For now pushed back from that date to August 22nd, 2014.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
