There’s been talk of a live-action Star Wars TV series for years now. In fact, hundreds of scripts were said to have been written following the release of Revenge of the Sith, but budgetary issues and George Lucas’ obsession with green screen special effects meant it never quite came together and was put on the shelf.

However, with Disney now in charge of Lucasfilm, a Star Wars TV show (whether it’s this one or something else altogether) becoming a reality seems like an inevitability. With a new trilogy, spinoffs, Marvel comic books, and novels all creating a shared universe, some sort of small screen project is essential.

While the animated Star Wars Rebels has obviously been a hit, but Disney are apparently looking to get a live-action series off the ground at last according to a new report. As soon as the schedule of the upcoming movies are worked out, the plan is said to be to use the existing sets and props to shoot this show between the movies. That means Pinewood Studios would be dedicated to making new Star Wars content 24/7!

There’s really any number of directions this could go in, but you need only look at what Disney has done with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC and upcoming Netflix shows like Daredevil and A.K.A. Jessica Jones to see how varied a Star Wars TV show could be. What would you like to see such a series shine the spotlight on?
