Lily James has joined the cast of ‘Subversion,’ an upcoming high-octane submarine thriller from Amazon MGM Studios, starring opposite Chris Hemsworth.
Directed by Patrick Vollrath (7500) and penned by Andrew Ferguson, the movie is described as a “Die Hard on a submarine”-style action thriller. The story centres on a once-promising naval commander (Hemsworth) who finds himself blackmailed by a cartel-like organisation into piloting a submarine loaded with illegal cargo across volatile international waters.

James will portray a determined Coast Guard officer hot on his trail, drawn into a tense game of cat and mouse as she races to stop the rogue vessel. As the commander battles escalating threats both inside and outside the submarine, he must navigate deadly waters, literal and moral, in a bid for survival and redemption.
Production is set to kick off this September in Australia.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the film under his di Bonaventura Pictures banner, with Stephen Shafer and Greg Cohen on board as executive producers.
