A rumour originally surfaced on E! Online last Tuesday that Lee Pace had been offered the role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, but now The Playlist have seemingly confirmed that he is only in negotiations to join the cast, however no official offer has yet been made.

If cast, Pace would play Garrett, a vampire and friend of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who assists the vampire coven in their final battle against the Volturi. It may not be the role of a lifetime, but it would see Pace gain a little more attention.

All main cast members will return for Breaking Dawn, with a new director in the form of Bill Condon signed on to direct, who has previously directed Dreamgirls and Kinsey, to moderate acclaim.

It was recently reported that Breaking Dawn would be split into two films, whilst there is also a possibility the films will be released in 3D. Part 1 will be released on November 18, 2011, with Part 2 scheduled to hit cinemas sometime in 2012. An official release date will be confirmed in due course.

Pace will next be seen in Ceremony, the much buzzed about film starring Uma Thurman and Michael Angarano. Ceremony was directed by Max Winkler and will hit cinemas towards the end of the year.
