Genuine information on JJ Abrams’ (M:I:3, Star Trek) latest “below the radar” offering is harder to come by than hens’ teeth. We have had a trailer, a set video and some casting news (catch it all here), but it’s been all tease and no pay-off, much like Cloverfield.

All of which contributes to a general feeling of doubt and suspicion in relation to a piece of concept art said to have been leaked. JJ Abrams seems so adept at keeping his cards close to his chest, it seems altogether implausible that such a clear and detailed image would escape. The fact that the original poster of the image says that his friend’s brother’s wife works for a marketing company and was e-mailed the image from Paramount by mistake only heightens the sense of disbelief.

In all honesty though, it is a shame, since the image looks great and would make for a suitably menacing, dangerous alien/creature. For what it’s worth, here’s the image. Thanks to Movieviral for the story.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
