Lakeith Stanfield has joined Mark Wahlberg on the cast of Shane Black’s crime thriller ‘Play Dirty.’

The adaptation Donald E. Westlake’s Parker novels sees Wahlberg as the hardened professional thief who is, naturally, double-crossed and left for dead. His hunt for revenge, however, brings with it a shot at the biggest heist of his career. But, even with the help of his partner, an actor-slash-con artist named Grofield (Stanfield), he’ll still need to outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob and the world’s richest man if he hopes to stay alive.

The feature will be directed by Black, who also co-wrote the script with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. Jules Daly and Marc Toberoff are the producers while Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey from Team Downey, along with Black, Mondry, Bagarozzi, and James Skotchdopole are the executive producers. Additionally, Ezra Emanuel is serving as the co-producer.

Stanfield received an Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category for his remarkable performance in the 2021 movie ‘Judas and the Black Messiah.’ He also starred in Disney’s summer blockbuster ‘Haunted Mansion’ last year. Stanfield is well-known for his leading role in ‘Sorry to Bother You’ and his work on the FX series ‘Atlanta.’
