Kristen Stewart (Welcome To The Rileys, The Twilight Saga) is in advanced talks to star in Snow White and the Huntsman, Universal’s take on the much-loved fairytale.

Stewart is on the road to topline the film as Snow White herself, beating other actresses, including Riley Keough (The Runaways), Felicity Jones (Cemetery Junction) and Alicia Vikander (Beloved), for the coveted role.

Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron, who starred together in The Road, will star as the huntsman and the evil queen, respectively.

A huntsman (Mortensen) is ordered to take Snow White (Stewart) into the woods and kill her but instead he chooses to let her go and the two are evidently chained together for part of the movie as they make their escape.

Rupert Sanders is attached to direct from a script penned by Evan Daugherty.

Production will commence in the Summer.
