A new trailer has arrived for action-thriller Kidnap,
Academy Award Winner Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball, X-Men: Days of Future Past) stars in this thrilling chase film as a single mother who, after her young son disappears, she takes it upon herself to chase down those who have taken him by any means necessary. The film is directed by Luis Prieto (Pusher) and co-stars Dana Gourrier (The Hateful Eight) and Christopher Berry (Spider-Man: Homecoming).
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
A typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for single mom Karla Dyson (Academy Award winner Halle Berry) when her son suddenly disappears. Without a cell phone and knowing she has no time to wait for police help, Karla jumps in her own car and sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers. A relentless, edge-of-your seat chase ensues, where Karla must risk everything to not lose sight of her son. In this tense, action-fueled thriller, directed by Luis Prieto and from the producers of SALT and TRANSFORMERS, one mother’s heroic attempt to take back her son leads her to ask herself how far she will go to save her child.
Berry, who also starred as Jinx in James Bond adventure Die Another Day in 2003, is set for a busy year in 2017: aside from Kidnap, the actress is also part of the array of talents starring in Matthew Vaughn’s hugely anticipated sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Taron Edgerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Colin Firth return from the first film, now joined by Berry, Julianne Moore (Still Alice), Channing Tatum (Logan Lucky), Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water) and music icon Elton John. The film is due for release in September.
Kidnap is released in US cinemas on August 4th with a UK release still to be announced.
