Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar is stepping behind the camera to helm a superhero film he describes as “X-Men meets Trainspotting”. I’m sold already!

Miracle Park, currently being shot in Millar’s home country of Scotland, focuses on a group of animal rights activists who break into a low-level research laboratory to find a mile-long underground base owned and facilitated by the US government.

The movie is being filmed entirely on a hand-held camera to give it a naturalistic, gritty feel, very much the antithesis of your traditional comic adaptation.

Let’s hope he makes a better job of it than fellow comic book writer Frank Miller’s first solo directorial effort, The Spirit.
