Kick-Ass-2-PosterThe wait is finally all but over, with Kick-Ass 2 making its highly anticipated debut in UK cinemas tomorrow.

Talk of a sequel has been ongoing since the release of the original, which netted an impressive m. from a m. budget. And after what has felt like an eternity, Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, and co. are about to return to the big screen once more.

As the film heads into cinemas tomorrow – a perfect opportunity to watch it with your 2-for-1 Orange / EE Wednesday – Universal have released a new red-band featurette, taking us behind the scenes on some of the action sequences between Hit-Girl and franchise newcomer, Mother Russia.

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2.

After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse lead the cast once more. And Jim Carrey, Nicolas Cage, Lyndsy Foseca, Donald Faison, Lindy Booth, Yancy Butler, Clark Duke, Andy Nyman, Robert Emms, John Leguizamo, and Olga Kurkulina complete the ensemble nicely.

Jeff Wadlow is at the helm this time around, directing from his own script, adapting the original comics by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.

Kick-Ass 2 will hit cinemas in the UK tomorrow, 14th August, with its US release date set for this Friday, August 16th. If you haven’t already, you can read our review of the blockbuster sequel. And as you count down the hours, here’s the latest featurette to get you back in the mood.
