life in a day movie posterIf you can remember waaaayyy back in the summer, July to be exact, Kevin Macdonald, the director of State of Play and Last Kind of Scotland, announced with producer Ridley Scott that they would be making a documentary entitled Life in a Day, a film that was created through YouTube user submitted footage.

The crowdsourcing experimental film, which will make its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next year, finally has a synopsis, which I’m sure you can guess yourself, and a promotional poster as the film begins to build anticipation and completes the post production process.

Life in a Day is a historic global event to create the first user generated feature film documenting a single day on Earth.  It’s a unique time capsule that will tell future generations what it was like to be alive on the 24th of July 2010.  On that day, people around the world captured a moment of their lives on camera and over 80,000 videos were uploaded to YouTube.

Academy Award winning director Kevin Macdonald and producer Ridley Scott have teamed up to tell a highly emotional story from the submitted footage.

The film will have a worldwide day and date premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube in January 2011.
