Keira Knightley, Alicia Vikander, Jamie Dornan and rising star Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story, 28 Years Later) have been cast in the dark comedy ‘The Worst,’ marking the feature directorial debut of Simon Woods.
Described as a sharp satire of “privilege, aspiration and performative morality,” the film turns an elegant couple’s getaway into a hilariously disastrous night that spirals far beyond polite society’s control.
The story follows socialite Emily Fisher (Vikander) and her husband Max as they invite their equally wealthy circle of friends to spend an evening at their newly acquired château in France. Among the guests are Holly (Knightley), a struggling diversity consultant whose tensions with the group quickly ignite, and Danny (Dornan), a fast-talking talent agent who rarely misses a chance to name-drop his impressive client list.

As the night begins to unravel and long-buried secrets surface, waitress Niamh (Kellyman) finds herself unexpectedly caught in the emotional and social crossfire of the privileged guests’ chaos.
Woods, an actor-turned-playwright-turned-director known for the National Theatre productions ‘Hansard’ and ‘Such a Lovely Day,’ both writes and directs the project.
‘The Worst’ is produced by Andy Berg and John Sachs for Eclipse Films alongside BAFTA winner Josh Hyams of Promise Pictures. Executive producers include Frédéric Fiore, Ryan Wickers and Andrei Kamarowsky for Logical Pictures Group, as well as Dave Bishop, James Pugh and George Hamilton for Protagonist Pictures.
