The Tiger is about an animal rights activist who must defend a Siberian town when its inhabitants are attacked by a tiger. Brad Pitt is in line to star, with Guillermo Arriaga (Babel, Amores Perros) working on the script. Arriaga says he is travelling to New York to clarify some details and then to Siberia to check on locations. He also seems to have intimated that shooting will start next year with Angelina Jolie on board as well, uniting her and Pitt for the first time since Mr & Mrs Smith.
Angelina Jolie is already committed to her untitled directorial debut, which would likely leave her unavailable for any other project until around the middle of next year, but whether that means Aronofsky will wait (seemingly a foolhardy decision given how in demand he is) or turn to another project and come back to Tiger later next year, only he knows. He is going to have to make up his mind soon though, as some of these projects are not going to wait around forever.
