Jesse Eisenberg has been set to take the helm of a currently untitled musical comedy which will see Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti to star.
The project follows a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical. Under the spell of the strong-willed and enigmatic director, she loses herself in the role and the high-stakes world of this community theatre production.
Eisenberg will direct from a script he also penned and contributing original music. Fruit Tree, helmed by Emma Stone, Dave McCary and Ali Herting, developed the project with Eisenberg and is set to produce alongside Topic Studios

Moore and Eisenberg reunite after working together on Eisenberg’s directorial debut ‘When You Finish Saving the World’ which also starred Finn Wolfhard.
Production is due to begin in early 2025.
