Jennifer-Lawrence-in-The-Hunger-Games:-Catching-FireJennifer Lawrence is just a few short months away from returning to the big screen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the second instalment in the franchise that began with such a hugely successful first film for Lionsgate last year.

The studio recently launched the first full-length trailer out in Comic-Con. And now a new image of Lawrence has landed online, via EW, showing her reprising her role as the now-iconic character, Katniss Everdeen.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Lawrence is joined by another stellar ensemble, led by Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Willow Shields, and Donald Sutherland.

Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is at the helm in Gary Ross’ place this time around, directing from a script written by Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire), with Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Star Wars Episode VII) doing a rewrite, adapting Suzanne Collins’ original novel.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to be released on 21st November here in the UK, following a day later in the US on November 22nd. For now, here’s the latest image from the upcoming blockbuster, which you can click through to enlarge.
