James Franco Alien Covenant

One of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2017 is Ridley Scott’s return to the Alienverse with Alien: Covenant. The sequel to Prometheus, itself a prequel to Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror, continues the evolution of the horrifying xenomorph following the events on LV-223.

The events of that film necessitate a new crew, with Michael Fassbender returning as David (with a twist) and a rumoured return for Noomi Rapace. Surrounding them are a new batch of eager young space cadets ill-prepared for a run in with the Alien. Cast members already confirmed for the film include Katherine Waterston (who herself has a potentially huge spoiler surrounding her appearance), Danny McBride, Demián Bichir and Billy Crudup.

Following rumours that James Franco was joining his Your Highness castmate in Scott’s new film we took the opportunity to ask the man himself.

During our interview with James Franco and Bryan Cranston for Why Him?, our man James Kleinmann asked the actor to comment on rumours he’s been cast in Ridley Scott’s Alien sequel. Clearly his surprised reaction says quite a bit (and hints at a carefully worded NDA) but this is the first time Franco has commented on his casting. Also – having Bryan Cranston as a commentator on the question is a lot of fun.

He also talks a little about seeing the film Alien film when he was young, and though there are no more details on Franco’s role it’s good to get some confirmation that he’ll be on board when the new film arrives in cinemas around the world on the 19th of May, 2017.

Here’s the interview segment,

  1. Saw ALIEN opening weekend back in 1979.

Still and A Classic and the best SCI-Thriller ever made! Hands down . . . .

James Camerons “ALIENS” is in my Top 5 of Best SCI-ACTION.

2015’s Rigley Scott’s “The Martian” was also a excellent SCI-FI original.

“Prometheus” almost put me to sleep until the last scene that showed 10 seconds of ALIEN.

I hope “ALIEN COVENANT” lives up to the quality and thrill of the first 2. The new poster looks looks SCARY SWEET.
