Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights rejoice! Word from Hollywood is that a third movie in the successful action-comedy series is on the horizon with both stars Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan set to return.
Set to be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), the new script is being developed from a story by original writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with Theodore Riley and Aaron Buchsbaum writing the latest version of the screenplay. Spyglass Entertainment are to produce and release the films with Miller and Gough on board as executive producers.
Shanghai Noon was release in 2000 and made $99.3million at the worldwide box office while its sequel Knights, released three years later, made $88.3million across the globe.
No word on a release date for the film just yet.
