Given how capable both Michael Smiley and Ben Mendelsohn are at portraying such unhinged, vacant characters, with such maniacal tendencies, needless to say we were a little anxious before heading in to the room to meet the talented duo. However, thankfully these two are nothing like the characters they often play, instead making for a genial and funny interview, as we discussed their latest turn – and first collaboration – in Kevin Macdonald’s Black Sea.
