While the vast majority of plaudits are heading in the direction of The Imitation Game’s leading star, Benedict Cumberbatch, the picture is of course a collaborative effort and for it to succeed it requires a host of strong performances across the board – and it succeeds. We had the pleasure of speaking about the project with two members of the supporting cast, Matthew Beard and Allen Leech.
The duo play Hugh Alexander and John Cairncross, respectively, an integral part of Alan Turing’s team of geniuses, who set out to crack the Enigma code. We spoke about working with Cumberbatch, how much they knew of the original story this film is based upon, and if this picture is nominated for awards, what they might choose to wear to the ceremonies…
