Known primarily for his role as Artie in the hit TV series Glee – Kevin McHale is now turning his head towards the world of cinema, with a starring role in The Choir – where he stars alongside the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Eddie Izzard and Kathy Bates.

We sat down with the actor to discuss the project – what it was that appealed to him, why a boy choir makes for such absorbing cinema, and how he could relate to the protagonist’s journey, having been a musician himself when growing up. He also dispels the myth of Hoffman being overly focused on set, and finally he tells us about his next picture, Men of Granite.

The Choir is out in cinemas now. You can read our review here.
