From ‘The Tudors’ to ‘Superman’, Henry Cavill’s chiselled good looks and talent have done him well! In fact, the British actor has taken up a role in ‘John Wick’ filmmaker, Chad Stahelski’s long-awaited ‘Highlander’ reboot.

Taking to social media, Cavill revealed how much of a fan he was of the films while growing up and expressed his delight in joining the cast.

“Very exciting news today! I’ve been a fan of Highlander since I was lad. From the movies in all of their 80s, Queen slathered glory to the TV show with an actor who looked remarkably like one of my brothers”. Cavill stated.

Stahelski has been attached to the project since 2016.

The original film was released some 35 years ago in 1986 and starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings who hunted each other down in order to collect more power. Lambert played Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, Connery portrayed Egyptian Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez and Clancy was a barbarian known as the Kurgan.

It went on to see four sequels and three TV shows evolve out the story.

Since we last saw Cavill in ‘Justice League’ as the caped crusader, he has starred in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ and ‘Enola Holmes’. He has also starred alongside Tom Cruise in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’.
