In the Confederates timeline, the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union and given rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution

The plot will focus on the events leading to the Third American Civil War and follows a broad swath of characters on both sides of a place called the Mason-Dixon Demilitarized Zone that is populated with freedom fighters, slave hunters, politicians, abolitionists, journalists, and slave-holding conglomerate executives.

Confederate

Benioff and Weiss said they had initially planned  “Confederate” as a feature film but their success with “Game of Thrones” had “convinced us that no one provides a bigger, better storytelling canvas than HBO.”

“We have discussed Confederate for years, originally as a concept for a feature film, But our experience on Thrones has convinced us that no one provides a bigger, better storytelling canvas than HBO. There won’t be dragons or White Walkers in this series, but we are creating a world.”

No further details were given on the new show, casting or when it is scheduled to air.

Already, the reveal of the new show has caused a bit of an uproar with some mocking the very thought of the premise of the series with some stating they should stick to dragons and magic.
