It was reported back in August that Peggy Atwell would return as Peggy Carter in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man along with a number of other familiar characters from the early years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The report at the time claimed that we’ll see Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym meet with S.H.I.E.L.D. in a flashback which along with Peggy will also include Howard Stark (played by Iron Man 2’s John Slattery, meaning the scene is probably set in the 60s), Armin Zola and a young Alexander Pierce.

He was of course last seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier played by Robert Redford so we’ll probably get a younger actor, but there is a chance they could bring him back for these scenes!

Confirmation that we’ll see Peggy Carter again though came from a casting advertisement from Atlanta:

“Casting directors are looking for an actor to work as a stand-in for the actor Haley Atwell. Haley Attwell is 31, 5’7 and 112 pounds. She is best known for her work in stage productions such as A View from the Bridge, and in films such as Cassandra’s Dream, The Duchess, The Pillars of the Earth, and Captain America: The First Avenger. In addition, casting directors are looking for a body double that meets certain requirements.”

Atwell will next be seen in her own TV series, Agent Carter. That’s set to debut early next year.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man is currently set to be released worldwide on July 17th, 2017!
