Just a week away from the very first previews, Pottermore has revealed the first look at the main cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The eagerly-awaited theatrical continuation of the Harry Potter phenomenon is one of theatreland’s hottest tickets, and no wonder. J. K. Rowling’s commitment to control the legacy of her greatest creation led to her creating the new Potter story, set nineteen years after the events of The Deathly Hallows.
Jack Thorne has written the play, which is to be split into two parts (naturally…) and this week we’ll be getting more images from the production.
Today we get to see Jamie Parker and Poppy Miller as Harry and Ginny Potter, and we also have the first image of Sam Clemmett as Albus Severus Potter in full Hogwarts regalia. Take a look.
The play will arrive at The Palace Theatre in London in July, details of tickets and everything else can be found here.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
