Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for ‘Greenland 2: Migration,’ the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 global disaster hit starring Gerard Butler.
Butler reprises his role as John Garrity, a structural engineer who, in the first film, fought to save his family — wife Allison (Morena Baccarin) and diabetic son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) — as a planet-killing comet hurtled toward Earth. After a harrowing journey through chaos and destruction, the Garritys found refuge in an underground bunker in Greenland as the comet struck, triggering an extinction-level event.
The sequel picks up in the devastating aftermath of that catastrophe. With Earth now a scorched, fragmented world, John, Allison, and their son (now played by Roman Griffin Davis) must venture beyond the safety of their bunker. As dwindling supplies and unstable conditions force them into the open, the family embarks on a perilous journey across a ruined Europe — a desperate migration in search of a new place to call home amidst a world forever changed.
Reuniting with director Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen, Greenland) and screenwriter Chris Sparling, Butler once again leads an emotional, high-stakes survival story that explores not only humanity’s endurance but the bonds that hold families together when the world falls apart.
