Glen Powell is one of very few non-Brits that make up the cast in Mike Newell’s The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, playing a romantic partner for the film’s protagonist, played by Lily James. We had the pleasure of sitting down with the charming Yank to discuss what it was that attracted him so greatly to this project.

The main answer, unsurprisingly, was Newell, as Powell discusses what a joy he had collaborating with this venerable filmmaker. He also speaks about the book the film is based on, and the spirit of the people during the Second World War. On the subject of spirit, we couldn’t help but ask about the cast of Everybody Wants Some!!, desperate to know if they all meet up and hang out in real life. They do. They have a group chat – how do we get invited in?
