class=”alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-41889″ title=”Gemma Arterton” src=”https://www.heyuguys.com/images/2010/09/Gemma-Arterton-220×150.jpg” alt=”” width=”220″ height=”150″ />In an interview with the Sunday Times [via The Playlist], Gemma Arterton talked about her new Britsh comedy, Tamara Drewe (opening in the UK this Friday) and dropped a few hints about a number of projects in the offing, while confirming her commitment to the upcoming Clash of the Titans sequel.

Arterton has been cast in The Keys to the Street, an adaptation of Ruth Rendell’s thriller novel penned by Christopher Nolan. The Keys to the Street centers a bone marrow donor, Mary (Arterton), who enters a relationship with the man who’s life she saved, a man who may not be what he appears to be.

Hinting at her excitement about the film, Arterton said, “”Why on earth has this film been sitting around?” Originally set up by Fox Searchlight, the project has been gestating for a number of years now, but hopefully, thanks to a re-write by Michael Stokes, as well as the addition of Arterton, a director will undoubtedly come aboard imminently.

In addition to The Keys to the Street, Arterton is attached to a “British cowboy film” called In With The Outlaws, which will be directed by Richard E. Grant; and has a meeting set up with Ridley Scott to discuss the possibility of a future collaboration. Arterton said, “Ridley Scott saw The Disappearance of Alice Creed and loved it. He wants me to meet for Aliens: The Remake, or something.”

Gemma Arterton is one of the best UK actresses of her generation, and already has a number of films behind her, which will no doubt have helped in securing her these roles. I’m personally excited about all of the projects mentioned above, aside from the Clash sequel, which, in my opinion, is a complete waste of her talent.

Are you a fan of Gemma Arterton’s work? Which of the above mentioned films are you looking forward to seeing?
