2. The End Of The Lannisters

Cersei

Talking of King’s Landing, it’s time to bring the story of the remaining Lannisters (not including Tyrion) to an end. At this point, the best way to do that might just be by killing the lot of them!

It felt like the show struggled to do anything interesting with both Cersei and Jaime last year, and the former’s walk of shame ended up being the only real talking point. While Jaime could still find a role somewhere in the series, Cersei’s desperate bid to hold on to her family’s power is beginning to feel stale, so wrapping that story up with an unexpected butchering – think Red Wedding 2.0 – would leave viewers gobsmacked and shakes up the dynamic in King’s Landing enough to lead to some unexpected new places.

  1. If the R+L=J theory is meant to pan out, what better way to demonstrate Jon is a Targaryen than to have him link up with the Fire Priestess?

Regardless, I don’t see Jon or Dany’s respective stories ending in such a fashion. Nor Tyrion’s, for that matter. Though we’ve been fooled by this before (Ned Stark, Robb Stark, etc.), all three seem so integral to the plot that having them disappear or die would derail it completely.

No mention of Ser Jorah? What of his eventual change into a Stoneman?

  2. About to watch the first episode of Season 6 so we’ll see whether Jon Snow does come back. I have a feeling it’ll be as a white walker or a Bobby Ewing shower scene :). Showing my age!
