10 controversial moments we want to see in Game of Thrones season 6

1. An Unexpected Romance

Jon Melis

I’m going to contradict myself here a little, but if on the off chance Game of Thrones does bring Jon Snow back from the dead (and let’s face it, that’s a very real possibility), would him hooking up with Melisandre be the worst thing in the world?

Yes, she’s already led one potential King to his downfall, but she would make for a very interesting ally to Jon and is currently one of the most likely candidates when it comes to who will be responsible for his return through mystical means.

If Melisandre does resurrect this firm fan-favourite, him initially being under her spell could be fun to explore, as would a genuine romance in some ways. Either way, don’t be surprised to see Jon’s story somehow tie into hers this year…

  1. If the R+L=J theory is meant to pan out, what better way to demonstrate Jon is a Targaryen than to have him link up with the Fire Priestess?

Regardless, I don’t see Jon or Dany’s respective stories ending in such a fashion. Nor Tyrion’s, for that matter. Though we’ve been fooled by this before (Ned Stark, Robb Stark, etc.), all three seem so integral to the plot that having them disappear or die would derail it completely.

No mention of Ser Jorah? What of his eventual change into a Stoneman?

  2. About to watch the first episode of Season 6 so we’ll see whether Jon Snow does come back. I have a feeling it’ll be as a white walker or a Bobby Ewing shower scene :). Showing my age!
