One of the most surprising and exciting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reveals was our first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman at last year’s Comic-Con. How big the character’s role in the movie will be remains to be seen, but she’ll also star in both Justice League and a Michelle MacLaren helmed solo outing.

When the Fast & Furious star was cast (and when that image debuted), some fans were upset that Warner Bros. hadn’t chosen an actress with the same exaggerated figure as the comic book Wonder Woman.

When an interviewer put this to her recently, Gadot revealed that she’s taken such complaints in her stride. “Don’t be shy. They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small,” she laughed. “I’m really lucky nothing in my life was instantaneous. When I was younger I would take criticism really hard. But now it mostly amused me. The true Amazons had one boob so it won’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t…It’s just empty talk. I understand that part of what I’m doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire.”

As for how the actress feels to be playing an iconic superhero like Wonder Woman on the big screen in Batman v Superman and beyond, Gadot added: “I get to play the strongest most empowering woman ever – Wonder Woman. I’m so grateful and I thank god every day. I want to devour it and enjoy every bite.”

Finally, she was asked what powers Zack Snyder’s version of the Amazonian Princess will have, and it sounds a lot like the comic books. “She has unbelievable endurance. She is exceptionally strong. She can jump really high and practically fly. She know tons of martial arts styles. She is a strong and serious woman.”
