Throwing a cultural lasso around the increasingly obsolete Christmas Number One single Disney have unveiled a charming, and a little silly, musical number featuring one of the chilly cast of their forthcoming film Frozen.
Written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (who became an awards magnet for his work on Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s The Book of Mormon) ‘In Summer’ is a well rendered song, full of charm and the usual invention Disney’s animation arm have availed them of in recent years.The film stars Kristen Bell who leads an expedition to find and defeat her sister who has cast a spell encasing the entire kingdom in ice. Just for kicks.
While we’re promised some dazzling vistas (as evidenced by some of the early concept art) they’ll be anthropomorphic shenanigans aplenty with trolls and, in Olaf’s case, a snowman.
Brace yourself, Summer is Coming…
Frozen is out in cinemas on the 6th of December.
