Cinematographer Greig Fraser has made a name for himself with movies like Killing Them Softly and Zero Dark Thirty, and he was behind the camera for two of this autumn’s biggest releases, Foxcatcher and The Gambler. However, all of these pale in comparison to his next project…Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars spinoff!

In a recent interview, he revealed that he will be working on the mysterious project. We still have no idea which character the movie will focus on with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett and Han Solo all rumoured.

“I’m doing a f***ing Star Wars movie,” Fraser told the site. “Which is like – I don’t know about you but Star Wars is like my first film love, do you know what I mean?… Gareth is doing a standalone film. Of course I do know some specifics, but it’s obviously something I’ve signed my kidneys away for.”

It is in fact his love of Star Wars which convinced the cinematographer to join the big budget blockbuster.

“It’s never been my goal to do ‘big’ films because a big film in itself is not very interesting to me. I don’t love big films for the sake of big films. It’s not been a career drive to get to that point. But it’s really exciting purely just because it’s such a big part of my childhood. And also, too, dude, if I fuck it up then I fuck up my childhood. So, you know, the pressure’s on!” You have to imagine that Edwards feels the exact same way!

We still don’t know the title of Star Wars Episode VII, but the spinoff reaches us on December 16th, 2016.
