Fox has picked up an animated series of Napoleon Dynamite, an adaptation of the 2004 cult classic.
The original cast are set to reprise their roles in the new series, which “follows the misadventures of an awkward high school teenager and his quirky friends as they struggle to navigate life in rural Idaho.”
Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess, who worked on the 2004 indie comedy wrote the adaptation, alongside Mike Scully (The Simpsons).
Napoleon Dynamite will air for 6 episodes on Fox starting late 2011.
