It was thirty five years ago that George Miller’s Max Mad left a massive impact on the action movie genre as a then 23 year old Mel Gibson took on a leading role in the desolate setting. Mad Max: Fury Road meanwhile will see the director head back into that world with a new story and cast.
In the title role will be The Dark Knight Rises and Locke star Tom Hardy, and following the movie’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con earlier tonight, four new character posters have been released.
The posters focus on him and the characters played by a couple of familiar faces, but the biggest reveal here is that of the villainous Immortan Joe. The footage shown during Warner Bros.’ panel was very well received, and Mad Max: Fury Road – which has suffered a number of delays – is shaping up to be one of 2015’s best.
The cast of Mad Max: Fury Road also includes Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw. After years of delays, it’s currently set to be released on May 15th, 2015.
