There had been rumblings that Chronicle director Josh Trank and 20th Century Fox were considering turning Doctor Doom into a woman for their reboot of The Fantastic Four, but now a short list of actors has emerged and they’re all male, and all from this side of the pond!

While Boardwalk Empire star Jack Huston was apparently considered at one point, it appears as if there are now only four actors left in the running to play the iconic Marvel villain. Who are they? Sam Riley (On the Road, Maleficent), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables, Jupiter Ascending), Toby Kebbell (Black Mirror, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and Domhnall Gleeson (About Time, Frank).

These are certainly some interesting choices, and each of them will arguably bring something very unique and interesting to a character like Doctor Doom.

In the comics, Victor Von Doom is a gifted scientist who scars himself in an experiment which goes horribly wrong. Doom blames this on Reed Richards, and as the monarch of Latveria, he sets his sights on taking out Marvel’s First Family. He’s also a master of technology and sorcery, making him one of The Fantastic Four’s most formidable foes.

Whoever ends up being cast in the reboot will join Miles Teller (Mister Fantastic), Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch) and Jamie Bell (The Thing).

Who do you guys think should play Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four?
