Four very fuzzy images and a decidedly clue-worthy logo were briefly shown to audiences at the GDC 11, and there are a few hints we can take from the announcement.
Attention was drawn towards the logo’s tail, which hardcore Mario fans will recall is very similar to the tail he gained from power-ups in Super Mario Bros 3, and allowed him to fly and turn into a stone statue depending on which weird-ass muppet-suit the power-up gifted him.
While no official details or video has been released as yet, IGN have produced a nifty uber-geeky breakdown of what they could surmise from the screenshots.

Once again, ‘the e3 expo’
No. It is not the electronics (and) entertainment expo expo, it’s just the Elec.-Ent. expo (didn’t want to retype all of that).
Aside from my semi-grammar-naziism (lots of hyphens!), I’m excited for this. Getting over the shock of them not releasing it on launch (They obviously weren’t ready for it — launch titles, lack of some key features (internet, shop)). I’m glad, though. I have a while to soak in the stuff that’s there while they prepare another key update that will give us even more to do (unfortunately, in two months’ time)
