2015’s Terminator: Genisys is planned to be the first in a new trilogy, with Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) directing a script by Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry).

While Arnie and the behind-the-scene snap of the T-800 both look fine here, the cheesy shots of the cast don’t really do the movie any favours after some ridiculed the Entertainment Weekly covers from yesterday.

In these, we get to see John Connor (Jason Clarke), Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and Doctor Who star Matt Smith, who is an ally of Connor’s, but seemingly a newly created character.

“I knew eventually that another Terminator was going to get made,” Schwarzenegger told the site. “People always have to go through that painful experience of doing a sequel, or something like that, without me.”

Despite some major changes to the timeline, Terminator: Genisys does actually revisit and recreate some key scenes from the original, and the special effects team had the task of merging Schwarzenegger’s face from the first film onto a body double, while also using scans of the actor now to recreate his mannerisms.
