Finn Wolfhard is set to reunite with ‘Ghostbusters’ filmmaker Jason Reitman for the reimaging of the 1999 comedy horror ‘Idle Hands.’
Wolfhard and Billy Bryk have signed on to pen the latest version, they are also in the running to take to helm on the project. Reitman will serve as a producer alongside Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd via their Team Todd banner. Gil Kenan also will produce, while Maia Eyre is overseeing the project at Sony.

The original starred Devon Sawa and Jessica Alba and centred on a teenage slacker whose hand becomes possessed with murderous intent.
Wolfhard and Bryk’s ‘Hell of A Summer,’ in which the pair co-wrote, co-directed, co-starred in and produced was a hit on the Festival circuit. In August, Neon acquired the horror-comedy which debuted at the Toronto Film Festival in 2023, it gathered critical acclaim for the duo. The indie distributor plans to release the film in the summer of 2025.
The pair have previously worked with Reitman on ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Saturday Night’ for Sony Pictures.
