Ron Howard’s Rush is one of the most promising and exciting projects currently in development in my books. Howard is reuniting with writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon), and has assembled a brilliant cast to bring Rush to life, with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl as the co-leading males and the lovely Olivia Wilde as the lead female.

We got our first look at Hemsworth on set last month, and now we’re getting a brilliant first look at Wilde alongside Hemsworth in a handful of excellent new set photos.

The film will tell the real-life rivalry of Formula 1 drivers James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Brühl), that filtered through into their personal lives too.

*Spoiler alert* For anyone who wants to go into this film completely blind, there are a few spoilers in the photos below, so scroll down of your own free will.

The last time Howard and Morgan last worked together, on Frost/Nixon, they brought an outstanding film to the big screen, one of my favourites of recent years, so my hopes and expectations are high for Rush, with every faith that they’ll be met, exceeded, and then some.

Principal photography is just under a month underway, so there’s still plenty to be done, and we can no doubt look forward to more photos from the set, including a first good look at Brühl as Lauda, who we can just about see in the awesome two-shot of him and Hemsworth below, but somewhat out of focus. More as we get it. And as usual, you can click the brilliant new images below to enlarge.
